After two years of refining their sound and expanding their repertoire, Tassie alt-rockers DRENCHED make a triumphant return with Slug, the lead single from their debut album, Infinite Resource.
We caught up with them recently to have a chat about what they're listening to :)
Hi Tom, Thanks for chatting to us today,
What was the last song you listened to?
Broken China by Minus the Bear
Do you listen to your own songs when you’re driving or working out?
I listened to our album on the day we released it. Otherwise, I’ve heard the songs so much through the mixing process that I’m a bit over them for now!
You’re in a club or venue and one of your tracks comes on what do you do?
If I’m with my bandmates we will nudge each other and say “aayyyyeee!”. If I’m with other people, I will say nothing and see if they notice.
What were you listening to when you were 13?
Blink 182, Smashing Pumpkins, Silverchair, Nirvana. Pretty standard “mid-2000’s teenager who has just discovered rock music” fare.
What are you listening to at the moment that we should check out?
I’ve been getting back into Shihad, also I love Narrow Head’s new album, Moments of Clarity. Cigarettes for Breakfast are a great shoegaze band that I’ve recently discovered too.
What one song instantly makes you smile when you hear it?
Howls by Agent Fresco
What is your guilty pleasure?
Don’t tell anyone, but I really enjoy Taylor Swift’s latest album!
What album do you always listen to all the way through?
Downwards Is Heavenwards by Hum.
What track would you like to cover?
There’s a few, but a top contender is Pure Shores by All Saints.
What track do you wish you had written?
Wounded by Third Eye Blind.
Thanks for chatting to us, we would definitely like to hear you guys cover 'Pure Shores'
